Eligibility for KOMS Certification
KOMS certification is offered only to professionals who meet strict educational and experiential standards and are approved through an interview process.
Eligible candidates must meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology or higher
- Possess 16,000+ hours (8+ years) of applied experience in the sports medicine field with a nationally recognized certification
- Be the author of published research in a kinesiology-related discipline with extensive applied industry experience
- Serve as a master-level instructor or educator in sports medicine with 8+ years of professional experience
- Qualify for special entry approval as determined by the KOMS Board of Directors
Final admission is granted by the KOMS Board of Directors following review and interview.
